Meet The Hosts

Gary N-ski

Gary  “The Shooter” N-ski has been an award winning outdoor journalist for over 40 years. He is the owner and co-host of the Great Wild Radio Show. His work has been published and broadcasted on WTSO Madison and WOKY Milwaukee, and 21 radio stations in six states,  and in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, Wisconsin State Journal, The Missoulian, Montana Trails Magazine, Anchorage Times, Pheasants Forever, Country Magazine and Hometown Newsgroup, Wisconsin Academy of Arts & Science, Lodi Valley News.Com, Wisconsin Outdoor News to name a few. He’s been the photography coordinator for UW-LaCrosse Mass Communications Dept, taught for the University of Alaska, Madison Area Technical College and the Glacier Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts. Gary and his wife Deb own the Good Ideas Company LLC and Project Lures LLC.  Since 1975 Gary has won dozens of state and national photography awards. Gary’s a founding member of the artsTribe . A visual arts collective based in Madison Wisconsin. He’s recently exhibited at the Commonwealth Gallery, Pyle Center and the Overture Center in Madison. He’s been a member of the National Press Photographers Association and the American Society of Media Photographers. Licensed Wisconsin Hunting & Fishing Guide, Hobie Fishing Team member and a award winning member Association Of Great Lakes Outdoors Writers – AGLOW and Wisconsin Outdoor Communicators Association, W.O.C.A.   Gary is also a national member of the board of directors of “Fishing Has No Boundaries”.

BARB CAREY

“WILD” Barb Carey is the President and Founder of WI Women Fish, the premier  women’s fishing club of the Midwest. Barb has a passion for fishing and produces fishing events for Women. She holds several Pro Staff positions including Lund Boats, St Croix, Off Shore Tackle and was recently added to the Clam Ice Team.

Barb’s history includes working as a nurse, a police officer, a farmer and petting zoo owner. Now working in the outdoor industry, Barb loves to be outside when ever possible. She shares her adventures by writing stories and recently won a Best in Craft Award by the Association of Great Lakes Writers.
Barb teaches classes in fishing and is a seminar speaker. Look for upcoming adventure reports from Wild Barb.
